Short and sweet mascara review here.
I received the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara as a complimentary gift (thanks, Influenster) for review purposes a few months ago, so here are my thoughts.
First, the packaging is beautiful. I will admit that I do not buy expensive mascara often (anymore), so this was a treat. I’m a fan of all black everything, so the color and shape of the tube were ideal for me.
Next, the wand. I typically love a straight wand for defining and a curved wand for volumizing. Since this is a volumizing mascara, they hit the nail on the head. The bristles are soft so the wand really packs the product on. The wand is curved perfectly and you really only need one or two sweeps before you’re all set. One coat will do it, especially for daytime looks.
If you like heavier mascara, I would recommend keeping a spoolie handy to use before your first coat dries. That will help with separating, which this mascara wand does not do for my thick, curly lashes.
The concentration of color? I believe this might be the blackest black mascara I have ever used. Huge fan.
Price: $26 at Sephora
In a nutshell…
Would I purchase?
Not for myself.
What would make me purchase?
If it were smudge-proof and waterproof, I would be on it.
If you follow me on IG, that’s the only mascara I have worn since I received it, so you can be the judge.
Have you tried this mascara? Love it? Hate it?
